St Philip's people

people

“Church is what happens when a group of people get engaged with Jesus Christ. It’s as basic as that. [It is] people who have found that encounter with Jesus has made a difference” (Rowan Williams.[1]). The church is people, gathered together with Jesus Christ. These pages tell something of the story of the people of St Philip's parish.

Since its beginnings, the St Philip's community has been much blesssed by the ministry of dedicated priests and deacons.

These pages also include some stories from the lives of parish members.

Ther are also pages celebrating much-loved elders who have died.

A special part of our community was the South Sudanese Dinka Congregation that was resident in St Philips' parish from 2011 to 2011.

St Philip's also had a special relationship with CAMRA — The Canberra Academy of Music and Related Arts, active in the parish from 1997 until 2014.
