Best of any song
is bird song
in the quiet, but first
you must have the quiet.

The incarnate Word is with us,
is still speaking, is present
always, yet leaves no sign
but everything that is.

Prayer

Almighty and eternal God, you made us of body, soul and spirit, that we live not by bread alone, but by every word that comes from you. We hunger for the spiritual food of your word. As we trust you for our daily bread, may we also trust you to give us day-by-day the inward nourishment of the living truth revealed to us in Jesus Christ.
