Deuteronomy 26
16 This very day the Lord your God is commanding you to observe these statutes and ordinances; so observe them diligently with all your heart and with all your soul.
17 Today you have obtained the Lord's agreement: to be your God; and for you to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, his commandments, and his ordinances, and to obey him.
18 Today the Lord has obtained your agreement: to be his treasured people, as he promised you, and to keep his commandments;

- The Ten Commandments and the clearing of the temple are calls to clear the way to life.
- An Australian Church leader once said "We cannot program for renewal for this is the work of the Holy Spirit — but what we can do is to remove the blockages".
- The Ten Commandments and the passion of Jesus in clearing the tables are gifts in understanding that clearing blockages is a key role of God's people.
- What tempting blockages do we face in our country, our church, our Parish, ourselves?
- God's view of reality is not like ours. The Ten Commandments give us God's view. They are not unattainable.
